LITLOOPS

LITLOOPS aim to reinvent the concept of a flip book, bringing animation into the physical world in the form of hanging sculptures that are composed of sequential images awakened by light.

It is possible to convert both computer software animations and traced video images into LITLOOPS. Short videos and animation loops are edited frame by frame to highlight particular elements in every picture. The pictures are brought back into the physical world using laser engraving. The slides were then distributed in order, much like stop-motion animation. The photographic stills appear in sequence since they’re aligned with strobe lights, creating an illusion of movement.
